Northern Lights Adventures
Chase the magical glow dancing across the polar sky.
Seeing the Northern Lights is one of the most magical experiences in Svalbard. From late October to February, the sky can light up in green, purple, and red as the aurora dances above the mountains. On a guided Northern Lights tour, you’ll travel outside the town where there’s no light pollution, giving you the best chance to see the lights clearly. Your guide explains how the aurora works and helps you capture photos if you’d like.
Sometimes, the lights appear slowly; other times, they fill the whole sky in seconds, every night is different. The tours often include warm drinks, local stories, and cozy Arctic atmosphere. Even if the lights don’t appear, the quiet beauty of the polar night makes the trip worth it. It’s a must-do experience for anyone visiting in winter.
