Snowmobile Safari to Fridtjovhamna & Van Mijenfjorden

About the tour
This trip is for guests who already have snowmobile experience, maybe from one or two trips earlier in your stay. The route to Fridtjovhamna and Van Mijenfjorden crosses changing landscapes and challenging terrain, and gives a real feeling of Arctic exploration.
The goal is the viewpoint at Fridtjovhamna, with wide snowy plains, steep mountains and the ice front of Fridtjovbreen. The guide plans the route after the weather of the day. If we cannot continue through Berzeliusdalen, we choose another route along Van Mijenfjorden, and if the whole area is unsafe, you are offered the East Coast safari instead.
Physical Requirements
Requires previous snowmobile driving experience. A very long day trip.

Included in the trip
Dress in layers – it’s the best way to stay warm. It is better to be too warm than too cold!
- Transport to and from your accommodation
- Winter suit, boots, mittens, helmet, goggles and balaclava
- Experienced guide with safety equipment
- Search and rescue insurance
- Hot drinks, biscuits and a warm expedition lunch
Recommended to bring
- Wool underwear, wool socks and a thick sweater
- Extra gloves
- A small backpack
Important Information
- Your driving licence must be valid in Svalbard. No refund for an invalid licence
- Not recommended if you are pregnant or have back problems
- The safety briefing is in English
- The route may change because of weather, wind, snow and avalanche risk

If you need to cancel, please let us know in writing. We recommend travel insurance that covers sickness and delayed or cancelled flights.
