Chasing the Dancing Aurora
with Longyearbyen Guiding
About the tour
Every evening at 21:00 we drive out of town and away from the light pollution to look for the Northern Lights. The tour always goes into Adventdalen, past the old airport and up to the Global Seed Vault. From there we follow the aurora east towards Mine 7 or west towards Mine 3, depending on where it shows up.
Your guide Magnus came to Svalbard as a 4-year-old, went to school here and worked for the mining company for many years. He has plenty of stories about Longyearbyen and will keep you warm and safe along the way.
If the chance of seeing the aurora looks very low, the tour may be cancelled and you get your money back.
