About the tour
Discover the area around Longyearbyen on silent electric snowmobiles from Lynx. With no engine noise, you can really hear the Arctic stillness as we leave the town behind and drive into the dark, lit only by the moon, the stars and our headlights.
We pass historic places in Adventdalen, like the old airstrip and an aircraft wreck, with great views towards Operafjellet. In the middle of the polar night the aurora can appear even in the daytime, so keep an eye on the sky. We warm up with a hot drink and biscuits at our cabin, Advent Lodge.
A calm and different way to search for the Northern Lights.
Physical Requirements
Suitable for most people without snowmobile experience. The terrain is easy and flat.

Included in the trip
Dress in layers – it’s the best way to stay warm. It is better to be too warm than too cold!
- Transport to and from your accommodation
- Winter suit, boots, gloves, helmet, goggles and balaclava
- Experienced guide with safety equipment
- Search and rescue insurance
- Hot drinks and biscuits
Recommended to bring
- A wool base layer (essential)
- A fleece or wool mid-layer
- Thin gloves to wear under the mittens on cold days
- Avoid down jackets under the snowmobile suit
Important Information
- A valid car or motorcycle licence is required to drive. Passengers do not need one
- Non-Norwegian digital licences are not valid
- The guide checks all licences, and there is no refund for an invalid licence
- Minimum 2 drivers per departure

If you need to cancel, please let us know in writing. We recommend travel insurance that covers sickness and delayed or cancelled flights.
