4-Day Snowmobile Expedition to the High North
with Snowfox Travel
About the tour
This 4 days / 3 nights expedition takes you to remote places in the north of Spitsbergen, far from the crowds. No snowmobile experience is needed, we start easy. It begins with a dinner at our basecamp the evening before, with a briefing and safety instructions.
Day 1 crosses large valleys and glaciers to a wilderness camp near Brucebyen. Day 2 crosses the frozen Billefjorden and follows Dicksonfjorden past a 40 metre frozen waterfall to Svenskhuset, the famous haunted house. Day 3 passes Pyramiden from a distance to Petuniabukta and an ice cave at Horbyebreen. Day 4 brings us back to town with a ton of memories. Everyone takes turns on polar bear watch at night.
Physical Requirements
Previous snowmobile experience is an advantage. Long days through some rugged terrain.
