Journey South – 2-Day Snowmobile Expedition

About the tour
Ready for routes away from the crowds? Day 1 takes us out through Adventdalen and into Todalen, over a glacier, through deep valleys and onto the sea ice, with lunch on the way and a great view over Van Mijenfjorden. We end the day at our wilderness tent camp with a warm meal and a stove inside.
Day 2 starts with breakfast and coffee before we head to an ice cave with ice thousands of years old. We ride back along the coastline, see Barentsburg from a distance, and finish over one last glacier with a view over Longyearbyen. Everyone takes part in the polar bear watch at night.
Physical Requirements
No snowmobile experience needed, but expect long days through some rugged terrain.

Included in the trip
Dress in layers – it’s the best way to stay warm. It is better to be too warm than too cold!
- Professional guide
- Transport to and from your hotel
- Snowmobile with fuel
- Snowmobile suit, boots, gloves, helmet and goggles
- All meals and warm drinks
- Warm sleeping bag and mat (or hammock) and overnight equipment
- Search and rescue insurance
Recommended to bring
- Several layers of wool under the suit
- Thin gloves for under the mittens
- A small backpack, since not all snowmobiles have storage
Important Information
- This trip depends on weather and ice conditions
- A valid driving licence for car, motorcycle or snowmobile, valid in Svalbard, is required to drive
- No refund if you cannot show a valid licence
- Everyone joins the polar bear watch at night
Cancellation Policy
22 days or more prior to departure gives a 95% refund
8-21 days prior gives a 50% refund
0-7 days prior gives no refund
If you need to cancel, please let us know in writing. There is no refund for route changes, sickness, cancelled or delayed flights or other things outside the operator’s control, so we recommend travel insurance.
