Snowmobile Trip to the East Coast – Small Groups
with Spitzbergen Adventures
About the tour
Drive east past snowy mountains, wide and narrow valleys and moraines, and see everything that makes Svalbard special. With some luck we may spot a polar bear from a safe distance.
Lunch in front of the Hayes glacier is a moment you will remember for a long time. The route is about 90 km each way, mostly on flat terrain, with many stops for photos and wildlife like reindeer, birds and seals. Groups are never bigger than 6 snowmobiles.
Physical Requirements
Previous snowmobile experience is an advantage. Day trip through some rugged terrain.

Included in the trip
Dress in layers – it’s the best way to stay warm. It is better to be too warm than too cold!
- Pick-up and drop-off at your hotel
- Snowmobile suit, gloves, helmet, boots and balaclava
- Field lunch and warm drinks
- Fuel
- Search and rescue insurance
Recommended to bring
- Several layers of wool under the snowmobile suit
- Thin gloves to wear under the mittens
- A small backpack for camera and extra clothes
- Avoid down jackets under the suit
Important Information
- A valid car or motorcycle licence is required to drive. Passengers do not need one
- Minimum 2 drivers
- Please tell us about food allergies before the tour
- Contact lenses are better than glasses if you can

Cancellation terms are set by Spitzbergen Adventures and are shown in the booking before you pay.
If you need to cancel, please let us know in writing. We recommend travel insurance that covers sickness and delayed or cancelled flights.
