Snowmobile to Tempelfjord & Fredheim
with Poli Arctici
About the tour
Ride to the heart of Sassen-Bunsow Land National Park. We head northeast out of Longyearbyen, through Adventdalen and the wide Sassendalen, to the historic trapper cabin at Fredheim, where the hunter Hilmar Nøis spent 38 winters.
We enjoy a warm lunch there in beautiful solitude. The mountains in this area look like castles, and narrow canyons show the geological layers of Svalbard. We look for seals on the ice and polar bear tracks, and finish with a view over Tempelfjorden and the Tuna Glacier.
Physical Requirements
Suitable for most without snowmobile experience, through some rugged terrain.
