About the tour

Join a full day on the snowmobile along the west coast of Spitsbergen. We pass old mining settlements, run-down trappers’ stations and modern research installations, through big valleys and along a beautiful coastline.

This is land that trappers, whalers, miners and scientists have used through history, and still do. We make several stops to talk about the nature and history around us, and to take photos. We see Barentsburg from a distance, enjoy homemade soup for lunch, and if time and weather allow, we stop at Colesbay.

The terrain is fairly easy, and the guides adapt the trip for beginners too.

Physical Requirements
Previous snowmobile experience is recommended. A long day trip through some rugged terrain.
