Experience Adventfjorden from the kayak as you glide silently across the water, surrounded by towering mountains reaching up to 1000 meters. The kayak allows you to get close to nature – you feel the paddle breaking the water’s surface, sense the proximity to the sea, and might even spot a black guillemot diving as you approach. On calm days, the fjord reflects the surrounding landscape, while on windy days, the waves create a completely different dynamic, requiring you to navigate in harmony with nature.
We pick you up in the morning and drive to our boathouse, where you receive your kayaking gear and an introduction to essential paddling techniques from the guide. Then we head out in double kayaks, crossing the fjord. A direct crossing is about 3 km to the other side, but we adjust the route based on weather conditions and the group’s abilities.

If conditions allow, we go ashore for a short walk to stretch our legs and enjoy the view of Longyearbyen. The area holds traces of Svalbard’s early settlements, with remnants of coal production at Hiorthhamn telling the story of those who once lived here.
After a break, it’s time for the return journey across the fjord. Kayaking offers a unique connection to nature – a peaceful yet active way to experience Svalbard.
