Reasons to book directly with us

There is no code for the discount. You can send us an e-mail with the trips you wish to book so we can apply the discount manually or our end, or you can also do the booking through our website, and we’ll cashback/refund you the discount afterwards, just reach out to us! Let us know if you have more questions.

When you book on our website, you get the lowest available rate, always. Sometimes, third-party booking sites may reduce prices to attract more clicks; but don’t worry! If you spot a lower rate elsewhere, just contact us directly. We’ll do our best to match it or offer you a better deal!

Coming back from an expedition, or arrived with the early plane and need to check in early? Direct bookers may request early check-in from 12:00, (or earlier, as long as it is possible) and we’ll do our best to accommodate—free of charge! We will prioritize you on the early check-in offer as our direct bookers, so please just let us know in advance!

We’re a cozy guesthouse in Longyearbyen, run with heart, dedication, and a personal touch. Every direct booking helps us continue sharing Svalbard’s magic with travelers from around the world.

Standard Single Room

A bed in this cozy room provides the perfect spot to rest, whether during the endless polar night or day. As Gjestehuset 102 was once the “millionaires’ mansion” for the most experienced miners, the standard was always higher, with each room featuring its own washbasin. This tradition continues today, with added storage space and a desk if you need to work. Wi-Fi, a generous buffet breakfast, bed linens, and towels are all included in the price.

Standard Twin Room

Our standard room for two offers comfortable beds and a basin with a mirror, reflecting the way “millionaire” miners lived in this former miners’ barrack 50 years ago. This room combines historical charm with comfort for a great stay.

We offer two types of bed set-ups in our two-person rooms. The traditional twin beds, dating back to when Gjestehuset 102 was the miners’ “millionaires’ mansion,” are solid wooden constructions that easily convert into sofas; or two single beds (90cm), which can be moved together. These rooms also feature washbasins, a standard when Gjestehuset 102 served as high-standard housing for Longyearbyen’s miners.

A bed in a mixed Dormitory Room

A bed in our dormitory offers a great opportunity to meet new people! The room includes a wash basin, a closet for toiletries, lockers, and a wardrobe. Wi-Fi, a generous buffet breakfast, bed linens, and towels are all included.

Please note: Our shared dormitory rooms have limited space and may not be suitable for guests with large or multiple pieces of luggage. They are ideal for backpackers. Lockers are provided in the room to secure your valuables, and padlocks are available for purchase at reception.

Start your day with a cozy breakfast before heading out to explore the outdoors! Our buffet offers a balanced selection, including breads and crispbread, cheese, cold cuts (ham, salami, smoked salmon), eggs, and fresh vegetables like cucumber and tomato.
You’ll also find a variety of cereals, oat puffs, granola, nuts, seeds, and chia, perfect to pair with yoghurt for a lighter and healthier start to your morning.
The highlight of our breakfast is our freshly made waffles. Warm, soft, and comforting – they are best enjoyed the Norwegian way: paired with brown cheese and jam. It’s a favorite among our guests and a small local experience we’re happy to share!

24/7 Coffee and Tea

There’s always a warm cup waiting for you at Gjestehuset 102. Our coffee and tea station is available 24/7, so you can enjoy a quiet moment anytime, early in the morning, in between adventures, or late in the evening.

Settle into our cozy common area, take a pause, and warm up after a day out in the Arctic. It’s a simple comfort, but one that makes your stay feel a little more like home.

Reception, Booking of Tours & Gift Shop

Our reception is open daily from 08:00 to 21:00, where our team is always happy to assist you with anything you need during your stay. Outside of these hours, our phone line remains open 24/7, so you can always reach us if something comes up.
At the reception, you’ll also find our easy-to-use booking station, where you can explore and book a wide range of activities and tours available in Svalbard. If you prefer, our team is more than happy to help you choose and arrange the perfect experience for you!
You can also purchase snacks, drinks, postcards, stamps, and small souvenirs at the reception and shop, perfect for a quick treat or a meaningful memory to bring home. If you’d like to send postcards, just leave them with us, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Shampoo & Shower Gel in Shared Bathrooms

For your comfort, shampoo and shower gel are provided in all shared bathrooms. Easily accessible and ready to use, they offer a simple and convenient solution during your stay.

It’s one less thing to pack, so you can travel lighter and focus on enjoying your time in Svalbard.

TV Rooms

Our TV rooms offer a cozy and comfortable space to unwind during your stay. Whether you want to relax after a day out in the Arctic, watch something familiar, or simply enjoy a quiet moment indoors, this is the perfect spot to slow down.

Sink into the sofa, enjoy a warm drink, and make yourself at home. It’s also a great place to connect with other guests, share stories, or spend a relaxed evening together in a welcoming atmosphere.

Self-catering Kitchen

Our fully-equipped self-catering kitchen gives you the flexibility to prepare your own meals during your stay. Whether you prefer to cook something simple, store your groceries, or just make a quick snack, the space is available for all guests to use.

Equipped with the essentials you need, it’s a practical and convenient option, especially for longer stays or those who enjoy a more independent travel style.
The kitchen also offers a relaxed space to gather, share meals, and connect with other guests in a casual and welcoming setting.

Stay connected throughout your stay with free strong, reliable Wi-Fi available in all rooms and common areas. Perfect for planning your adventures, staying in touch, or getting a bit of work done.

Arriving early or leaving late? We offer luggage storage so you can explore Longyearbyen freely without carrying your bags.

We offer a paid laundry service for your convenience, ideal for longer stays or after outdoor activities. Just ask at reception, and we’ll take care of it. This costs 195,- NOK per load (max 8kg), including drying.

Hairdryers are available at reception, just let us know if you need one.
