Trollsteinen: Hike to the summit 850 meter above sea level
with Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions
- All year
- 7-8 hours
- 1515-, NOK
The mountain ridge around Larsbreen (Lars’ Glacier) is shaped like a horseshoe. A huge rock towers at the highest point of the ridge. Shrouded in Arctic landscape, this place truly earns its name – Trollsteinen (the Troll Rock). We start our trip by walking up the mountain sides, before we head of to the magical Trollsteinen.
During mid-summer and expanding snowmelting, we use 1 hour more to complete the hike.
We will take a break to eat a proper expedition lunch, and to enjoy the silence around us.
On the top of Trollsteinen, the view is fantastic.
The tour is medium to challenging.
We recommend bringing with you a backpack with extra warm jacket and cold water for the hike. Good hiking boots is required.
